Evolution North America (ENA) is in the process of launching a new live-dealer casino in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The facility will strictly service online players and not allow public access to table games.
ENA CEO Jacob Claesson told FOX 17 West Michigan, “It’s like playing at the table game at a casino, but it’s streamed online, and you’re playing from the kind of comfort of your own home.”
The new facility will operate exclusively for online players and serve as a state-licensed online casino production studio. Claesson also stated, “We build the broadcasting Studios, where we build physical Blackjack and roulette tables. We put in the tech to stream, the cameras, the servers, the infrastructure to stream that online to a player anywhere in the state.”
In Michigan, gamblers can use their smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers to access live dealer casinos. ENA will employ licensed live dealers to host a variety of state-approved table games, including multiple variations of poker.
Claesson also stressed his company’s desire to provide the live dealer experience to Michigan residents and the importance of establishing operations within the state’s lines.
The ENA CEO also stated that they have been hiring more than 100 people monthly as the demand for online casino entertainment has grown. Claesson said that he chose to expand to Grand Rapids after he was impressed with the city’s hospitality during a recent visit. “I was really impressed with the kind of hospitality and the service industry when I visited,” Claesson said.
Evolution plans to expand its online operations to include more gaming options in the future. The company does not operate its own casino but instead contracts its services to other licensed online casinos.
Claesson stated, “We think that this live dealer is going to grow a lot in the US as more players get familiar with it, as we expand, and as we introduce more games.”
The facility in Grand Rapids is still in development and will not be available to the public.
Are Online Casinos Legal In Michigan?
Yes, Michigan is one of the seven US states that allows domestic online casino gambling alongside Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Rhode Island. In 2021, Michigan launched online casinos, sportsbooks, and poker rooms, making themselves one of the friendliest online gambling states in the country.
In addition to the state-licensed online services, residents can also access online Michigan casinos from outside the state. The state has recently resisted out-of-state online gambling services but has not passed specific legislation to deem them illegal for residents to access.
